New Years Eve

Is that the brush that paints 2016 ?

I know that many of us have experience the 3-D's this year. God has or is bringing us through (Psalm 23 ).

What we did have and have found comfort in is the prayers we've lifted up, the prayers and support from our friends and the knowledge that God WILL work all things together for our good.

In the midst of it it may be hard to see yet rest assured God will keep His word on our behalf.

2016 is quickly passing and 2017 is rapidly approaching. May your 2017 be filled with
& Joy

The choice is yours because it's all in how you see the incidents that occur in your life.

Challenges or opportunity, it's all in your perspective.

Choose to turn all things to good.

Happy New Year !!!

#Prayers for Officer Jackie Tucker

Please #Pray for Saraland, AL - USA Police Officer Jackie Tucker who was shot in head -   She is critical/stable following surgery to remove shrapnel from her skull. She is currently fighting for her life.

On December 21, 2016, 1045hours, she and another officer responded to a domestic dispute call and immediately upon arrival, the suspect shot at the Officers, striking Officer Tucker. Her partner took heroic action to drag her back behind the patrol car and get her to safety. Officer Tucker is married to a Mobile PD Police Officer. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Tucker family, and her partner's family.

The suspect, 27, who frequently posted on social media about hating and promising to kill any cop who came to his home, was subsequently shot and killed.

The holidays can be a very dangerous time for victim's of domestic violence and for police officers responding to assist them.

Please keep all our law enforcement in your prayer this season.

While you're enjoying your family time officers are out in the cold, rain and snow making sure you can live a peaceful life.

Forgiveness is Your Choice

Life is too short to darken your days with bitterness and resentment.

If you wanted to you could live in misery. Yes I said, if you wanted to you could live in misery.

Why would I start a post like this ?

Because right now there are people reading this post who have chosen to focus on negativity as opposed to the positive things and people in their lives.

This time of year families tend to re-Unite. They come together to enjoy each other, catch up on what has happened since last you gathered and to share memories and experiences.

Memories and experiences. Do you have negative memories or bad experiences that you are still carrying in your backpack (memory bank ) about a family member, friend or coworker ?

Do you ?

There is a teaching that states that until you forgive anyone you feel has done or failed to do something you thought they should have or should not have done you will not being able to free your mind to be available for what this world has for you.

Negativity and unforgiving thoughts block blessings, block creativity and can block advancement.

The only person who can remove the blocks are you.

You have the choice.

Choose to forgive. Choose to set the example for others. Your children, your family, your friends and coworkers are all watching.  They pay attention to your responses.

If you are reading my post you are a leader, you are a difference maker and what you do influences many lives.

Use your life for good. Set the example. Choose to forgive.

The choice is yours. Carrying anger, bitterness and Unforgiveness is like drinking poison and hoping it will kill the other person.

Most of the time the other person is unaware of your anger/issue or they don't care.

So forgive them, let the anger over the situation go and live your life with joy. In joy. Bitterness and joy cannot occupy the same space.

Here's to forgiving those who have hurt you and to a peaceful season filled with joy.

Enjoy !!!

FOMO - Fear Of Missing Out

Is this keep you from accomplishing the goals you Say you have ?

In my previous post I have been checking in with you to see how you're coming on your goals and proposed projects for 2016.

Many of you let me know this is a challenge for you. That you are reading books, taking course and training in which you gather great information that you have every Intention of Implementing yet ....

We have only a few weeks left in 2016 and you've shared you haven't Implemented much of the new knowledge, skills and processes you acquired this year.

Why ?

Because you've been acquiring the info and then signing up for and going to another training and acquiring more info because

You don't want to miss anything.  You don't want that training opportunity, that networking opportunity, that face time opportunity to pass you by.

With FOMO as you driving force you may never apply the knowledge you've learned.

So I challenge you To Do, implement the new strategies, tactics and processes you've learned to year BEFORE you attend another personal, career or business development course.

DO what you have learned up until now so you have an experiential testimony of success or failure to build your foundation.

You cannot spend your life in school. Get out and Do. Make mistakes, learn, correct, improve.

The only way to Be Excellent is to Be Doing Something.

Class is over. Get to work.

You can Do it 👍

28 Days - Give to Live Give to Love

Are you a giver or a taker ?

Take a deep breath. Again I ask : Are you a giver or a taker ?

Think about the interactions in your life.
Do you find yourself reaching out, sharing your time, talent & knowledge or
as you reflect, do you find yourself to be the receiver of this from others ?

Givers are Winners.

Strong Leaders are Givers.

You have something to Give that will make life easier for another human being. You can give an informational training about your area of expertise, you could volunteer with a charity that helps a cause that is important to you, you could donate your excess clothing or even donate money or food to a local nonprofit that helps to feed less fortunate families.

This season of the year encourages Giving. The more you give the move that will be given to you.  When You demonstrate yourself through action as a person willing to use their resources and blessings to bless other You will be richly blessed.

So today as we prepare to finish 2016 strong I challenge you to GIVE BIG & Show your LOVE.

And don't forget to review day 30 and 29 of the challenge to keep up with the challenge.

Have a Giving Weekend 😀

29 Days - How you doing ?

Tick Tock Tock Tock

Yes Time marches on even as we procrastinate and say "Soon" "Tomorrow" "This Weekend" "I Will" "I've been Meaning to"

Think about how many times you've said something like that ?

How many times have you chose something easy, quick and more convenient over something you knew you Really NEED to get done ?

The question is "Do you really WANT IT ? "  the promotion (which requires preparation, study and commitment to truly see yourself at the next level)  the college degree ( which requires determination,  study and making time for classes) the ________ you fill in the blank.

Needing to do something and wanting to do something are two different things and you are the only one who can decide which word is your word for the desires you express, NEED or WANT ?

Remember life is about choices. To get up or to sleep in, to go or to stay, to excel to the next level or to remain in your comfort zone.

The choice is yours. How are you doing with your 2016 choices ?

I encourage you to reflect on this post and Write Down the things you need to do.  Tomorrow we will talk about THE WANT.

In each country families set aside a time when the goal of a day, a week, or a season is to be thankful.

This week is the week in the USA and today is the day.

What are you thankful for?

Really, what are you thankful for?

I have the opportunity to share key life events with many people and one of my favorite exercises is to help people focus on their blessings (in other words the things they are grateful for).

1.      Take a minute and sit in reflective silence.
2.      Look at your surroundings.
3.      Ask yourself: What challenges me? What helps me grow? What enables me to Be Me in the world?
4.      Then write out the responses.
5.      Create a gratitude list.

If you woke up this morning and are reading this message - Be Thankful.

If you have people who love and care for you, people who support you and help you through life - Be Thankful.

If you can go outside and smell the fresh air, see the sky, stretch and move your body without pain (and even with pain because pain signals us that we need to address something within us) - Be Thankful.

If you ask "Chaplain, how can I be thankful if my body is in pain or I am in a wheel chair or recovering from an injury?”

I answer, "because thankfully you are here to live another day. To interact with your loved ones and to make a difference in this world. "

Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we choose to respond to it.  Our response is our choice.  We have a high calling on our lives.  We are Law Enforcement Professionals.

Our lives are not perfect yet we can live the lives we have been given with an attitude of thankfulness and share our gratitude with the people we influence.

As LEOs we influence people we may never meet or who may never tell us we influenced them. We must be aware.  Someone is Always Watching what we choose to do. Live your life in integrity.

Set the example of ALWAYS BEING THANKFUL, showing gratitude (especially to someone who does not expect a sincere "thank you") and saying "thank you" often.

And as you take a few minutes to reflect on what you are grateful for, please remember the families, friends and colleagues of our Fallen Officers. Sadly they'll be many families whose gatherings will be incomplete because their LEO loved one’s life was lost, taken in the Line of Duty, Give thanks for their willingness to serve and for the legacy they leave behind. As members IAWP we NEVER FORGET OUR FALLEN !

I am thankful for each of you. My team and I will continue to cover you in prayer.

In all you do Stay Safe and know Someone is Always Watching you. Be an Example Worth Following.

In Gratitude,

FAITH & PRAYERS - My Hospital Visit Update

When the Chaplain needs prayer :

This week a medical condition found me in the ER (hospital emergency room) in a lot of pain with a dire speculation of what was wrong.  I thank God with lots of prayer (I had all my Facebook friends and close friends praying for me ) the dire thought was NOT diagnosed. I TRULY believe it was because of all the prayers, I believe God stepped in and healed me of the most serious diagnosis because of the prayers and faith of ALL who lifted me, my doc, technicians and nurses up in prayer.

As I was being treated I told every doc, nurse, tech, person in the beds near me that "everyone is praying for us, it will be ok" and Praise God it was.

So many ppl were touched, affected and blessed by my trip to the ER:

1) Me because my faith was built even stronger.

2) Each person who prayed and heard the good report as a result of their prayers.

3) All the medical personnel and injured people who interacted with me or over heard me vocalizing the prayers and my faith were touched and influence by Your faith (all who prayed for me ) and my steadfast belief that WHATEVER the diagnosis GOD is in control and WILL work ALL THINGS together for the good of all who LOVE Him !!!

I am excited.

Totally Grateful.

In ALL THINGS.  We must give it to God, Seek His guidance and direction and share our faith with Everyone the Lord places in our path.

The message the Lord has been sending me for a while is that I need to rest my body, slow down and stop piling on yet another project.

Well Father GOD I am listening and I WILL REST.

This holiday season I am in a season of Rest and focused Self Care.
I had put me on the back burner and been focused on projects and care for other people neglecting me and my health. How many of you can identify with that 🙋🏽.

No more. If I am shut down due to illness caused by poor self care I will not be able to adequately COMPLETE my mission and call.
I am called to serve.
I serve people through my ministry speaking, training, educating and empowering people to live a life free of oppression and violence and how to discover and follow their life purpose.

I want to be in Good Health (for as long as it within my control ) along this journey.

Please keep me in prayer as I heal. I am resting, spending time with the Lord, my family & friends  and praying.

Another thing I am totally thankful for is my mom was with me all day during my ER adventure.  I am so grateful for my mom.

Mothers are a blessings. Most people become big babies when we are injured mostly desiring the presence of our loved ones, most often our MOM. Thank God my mommy was by my side and she witnessed me telling everyone about the power of prayer and I read her the text messages, Facebook post and she heard the calls wishing me well.

I am grateful to all the people who took time to pray for me.

As a chaplain I am often asked to pray for others. This was the first time in a long time I asked for prayer FOR ME and Many answered my call.  I am thankful for everyone who prayed. I pray the Lord will richly bless all who prayed. May everyone who took a minute to lift my injury up to heaven to ask for intervention on my behalf Be Richly Blessed, may they walk in abundance and good health and their families be blessed with great favor in all they do. I ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.

We Set The Example

A new season is upon us.

Last weekend many in the United States changed their clocks back in honor of daylight savings time. This provides more light for our daily activities.

In the pass few hours the American people voted in a new season, a historical change by voting Donald Trump in as the President-elect of the United States of America.

The election campaign process was not pleasant.  People were strongly divided on their choice for America's highest leader.

Today is a new day.

As law enforcement professional we serve and protect our communities not dependent on who is or who we supported for President, Senator, Governor or local offices yet for the people of peace and integrity that we are.
We set the example.

People look to us for clear heads and to show respect for authority. They look to us to model civil behavior and to keep the peace.

Thank you to all who had the opportunity to protect and serve our political candidate in the U.S. and worldwide.

Our professionalism sets us apart from any other calling.
As law enforcement officers we are above dissension and stand for and bring about Unity.

I encourage everyone to be the light in their agencies and communities showing support and helping our elected official to make your environment the city and counties and countries you serve the best and safest community they can be.
I know you will.

I am proud to call you my sisters and brothers in law enforcement.

To all our military service members and veterans  Happy Veterans Day (observed in the U.S. on November 11 ) and thank you for your service.

Continue to Be the Change you want to see.

Stay Safe.

How to live the life of your dreams.

1. Celebrate life NOW

2. Live life fully NOW

3. Don't put off until tomorrow what can be done and have fun TODAY.

So often I see people posting on Facebook or Twitter about the passing of someone they love. They post the memories they have of times with that person. Their fond memories, happy times, joyful events and kind words that were shared between them and the person who is passed.

I would like to encourage you to live life fully, boldly, to its best however that looks for you.

This is a new day.
This is a new week.
How will you live this week so amazingly that it will be unforgettable for anyone who encounters you and for you?

Tomorrow is not promised to us. Next week is not promised to us. This upcoming holiday season is not promised to us.

What we have is Now.

Are you truly living the life of your dreams. If not why not?

No one can create that life for you or live that life for you except you. So I ask again are you living the life of your dreams?

Let's talk. It is my goal to help as many people live the life of their dreams as I can before I leave this earth.

Have a super amazing week and you know how that happens? YOU make it so!

Never Forget September 11, 2001

2996 individuals were killed as a result of the September 11, 2001 attacks on the people of America and several thousands were injured. The world was thrust into the bleak face of terror. A group of people gathered together to plan acts designed to put people in fear for their lives and to stop them in their tracks.  The attacks were on Freedom, safety and peace of mind.

15 years later we remember and honor the fallen. We keep them and their surviving family members in our thoughts and pray for them.

We are very resilient. We stand up for them and stand up against all acts of terror whether they occur in the United States or abroad.

We bring love, commitment, compassion, justice, honor, security, leadership and grace where ever we go. We serve our fellow human. We do all we can, when we can and I understand there are times when doing all we can is as simple as showing up to show support or listen to the concerns and needs of others.

Today we remember all the fallen first responders of September 11, 2001.

We honor them by standing in prayer in the gap between chaos and order in our individual communities to ensure justice prevails where we have influence. Continue doing all you do and helping all the people you can with the resources you have been blessed with.

Pause for a moment to remember the impact of the sacrifice our brothers and sisters made on September 11, 2001.

Today we remember.  We will never forget.

Know that my prayer team is covering you and all Law Enforcement officers internationally in prayer daily.

Stay safe.

I love to see our flag flying.

I love to see our flag flying blowing in the wind. I specially love when it's fully displayed anywhere.

Raised fresh in the morning and retired ceremoniously at dusk.  With reverence and remembrance of how this, our American flag, has flown over all our citizens, politicians and Service members as we proudly support, served or sacrificed for the freedoms of our great country.

The United States Of America.

Our country.

Home of the free because of the brave.

We won't forget the people that lost their lives to bring these rights to us and to keep them.

They chose to protect our country from our enemies both foreign and domestic.

No greater love.

Honor our veterans today and remember the fallen always.

Have a Safe Memorial Day!!!

People will ...Love them anyways

I've been :

Cussed at
Fussed at
Put down
Talked about
Fought with
Ran from
Spit on
Knocked down
And scarred
And that was by family members, friends and colleagues
Not just my police clients (citizens, victims, suspects)
Yet still I smile
And help where I can.
I choose Love.

Others may not understand, appreciate, or support your higher call.
It is yours.
Embrace it.
And do what you know is right in your heart and soul.

That's a happy life well lived.

Have an amazing day.

This year will be an Epic Year with life changing adventures that will impact many lives.
