Surviving and Thriving in Law Enforcement

I am very excited because we will soon be welcoming many International police delegates to Fabulous Las Vegas.  The word Las Vegas means the meadows in Spanish.  Vegas is an oasis in the middle of the desert surrounded by mountains.

We can image how the Vegas Valley appeared to weary western travelers.  I imagine it appeared as a Mirage in the middle of the untamed mountains and dust.  A respite from the dry heat of the desert.  A perfect place to set up a town.

Out of that need Vegas was born and welcomes millions of visitors every year.

Over the next few post I will take you around my town.  Vegas has a reputation. There is a lot of light here and that sometimes shields dark secrets.

Our upcoming IAWP Regional Conference will shed some light on the darkness.  One of our sessions will deal with the often believed acceptable Sex Industry.

Prostitution isn't legal in Las Vegas contrary to popular belief.

Our conference addresses one of the elements that often come into play in this trade. Human Trafficking.

Human Trafficking is modern day slavery and it is happening to our friends, children and relatives.
