Opening ceremony was conducted yesterday at the The Grower Street United Church.
The venue was blessed by First Nation member Angela Christmas with a prayer and recognition of the officers that have had their lives taken in the line of duty since we last assembled. Featured speakers included the Premier of Newfoundland The Honorable Kathy Dunderdale, City of St. Johns Mayor Dennis O'Keefe, Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Chief Robert Johnston, Royal Canadian Mounted Police Commanding Officer Tracy Hardy, Atlantic Women in Law Enforcement President Paula Raymond and President Jane Townsley.
