Happy Veterans Day 2011

Today is the last binary number day of this century. This date's number when written in the most popular form of recording the date reads like a computer communication 111111.

The 11th day of the 11th month of the 11th year of the 21st century. Make it a memorable day.

On this day in the United States many cities celebrate with parades to honor the veteran of military service. Less than one percent of the US population have or are serving their country as a service member. It is my honor to say I am one of them. I served in the US Army.

To my fellow veterans and currently serving members thank you. Thank you for choosing to protect the freedoms the people of our county enjoy many times without realizing the sacrifices our troops endure.

Over 5,000 service members have lost their lives and over 10,000 have been wounded since 2003 in military engagements.

So today, if you are in the US treat your service member family and/or friend to the Free offerings available to thank them for their service.

Olive Garden, Applebee's, Chilli, TGIFridays and Krispy Kreme donuts is offering a free meal for veterans. In Las Vegas the Stations Casinos are giving free buffet meals to Veterans.

Lord I pray that today service members from around the world feel your presence and appreciation for their choice to serve their fellow man and for those whose families are left behind because they paid the ultimate sacrifice in service, bring them peace today. Amen.

Have a safe day.
