While we were attending church, shopping, hanging out with our families and friends,
watching football, or whatever we chose to do on a beautiful Sunday
afternoon law enforcement officers throughout the country were under
attack. January 23, 2011 in the United States several officers were attacked
while serving their community. Please PRAY for a full recovery for each and every officer involved in these three separate incidents.
At around 9 a.m. on January 23, 29 year old Indianapolis PD Officer David Moore was shot four times and is in an area hospital listed in critical condition.
At about 4:20 p.m. on January 23, in Detroit's Northwestern District a gunman walked into a Detroit police station and opened fire with a shotgun. He wounded four officers before being killed by other officers.
At around 3:45 p.m. on January 23, two people were killed and two sheriff's deputies were seriously injured during a shoot-out Sunday afternoon outside a Walmart store in Port Orchard, Kitsap County (Washington State)officials said. The two injured deputies were rushed to Tacoma General as well, Kitsap County Sheriff Steve Boyer said. The deputies were listed in serious condition with non-life-threatening injuries.
Indiana, Michigan and Washington; three state, three separate incidents, seven officers attacked while doing their duty. While protecting and serving their community.
Please join me in praying for a speedy and full recovery for each of these injured officers. I am thankful though we had seven officers injured we did not have a loss of a law enforcement officer. I believe this was the result of prayers.
Please keep the women and men of our nation's law enforcement communities in your prayers. Prayer makes a difference. When we cover our officers with prayers of safety and wisdom we help our protectors have the edge they need to hold the flashlight on the darkness that dwells and surrounds our citizen's in our local communities.
Each day law enforcement officers around the world don their uniforms, guns, badges, bullet-proof vest and courage to man the gap on the thin blue line between order and chaos; between light and darkness; between good and evil. Darkness does not like the light or the people who bring the light exposing the lies, deeds and schemes of the darkness. We must pray for safety, wisdom and protection for all our crime fighters.
I hope you make this request a daily practice.
To each and everyone of my law enforcement readers I pray you stay vigilant and safe as you preform your duties.
